Youth Awards

The Green Valley Elks Lodge #2592 hosted more than 200 children, parents, grandparents, siblings and Green Valley Elks’ Officers and members for the annual Elks Youth Week Picnic and Recognition Awards Banquet.   Photos by Ken Haley.

Exalted Ruler, Arturo Gabaldon, welcomed all to this special occasion where the Elks’ honor all youth that participated in the Youth Activities Programs for 2010 - 2011.  Antwon Saunders, Lodge Esquire, lead the Pledge of Allegiance and Esteemed Loyal Knight, Carol Sturdevant, gave the Invocation.  

Our Sports Winners ...

Hoop Shoot 1st place winners were Litycia Espinoza, Kelsey Ferguson, Melanie Andrade, Nico Harris, Chase Verdugo and Jacob Mayer were announced by Arturo Gabaldon, Exalted Ruler.  

Our Drug Awareness Winners ...

Drug Awareness Chairman, Jack Ponzo, announced the 1st place winners for the Poster and Essay Contests. They were Poster Contest - Kevin Villa, Yaseli Mariscal, Cheroke Bayer, Francisco Orozco, Coralee Burns, Danielle Dominguez, Emily Flowers, Justin Kerr, Jackie Gonzalez, Ashlee Rollins, Jessica Landon, Carlos Trujillo, Keilah McCracken, Nicholas Harris, Haley Collier, Anna Creer, Abby Abbott. Drug Awareness Essay winners were Riley Goldsmith, Jayleene Lopez, Katrina Chesney, Gerardo Lerma, Jr., Cleste Stockellburg, Megan Jones, Mikhaela Pinto, Sarah Jackson and Amanda Lahman.  

Americanism Essay Contest winners were  Daisey Che Kayla Christiansen, Maddie Bullington, Abigael Hein and Riley Goldsmith.   

Our Scholar Winners ...

The Scholarship Committee announced that a total of  $25,000 was awarded to the scholarship recipients. Tom Bright, Scholarship Chairman announced that the winners of the Scholarships. They  were Amanda Schwarz, Emily Cain, Charolette Rheingold, Dylan Carpenter, Carina Salvatore, Bryn Booth, Seth Shearer, Natasha Smith, Kirsten Poulin, Cheyenne Pierce, Garrett Mc Carter and Nicole Manns.  


Recognizing our Eagle Scouts

The Elks’ Eagle Scout Award was given to Ryan Archuleta, Jordan Chandler, Alex La Valley and  Tyler Bigler. A certificate and American Flag were given to them for their outstanding service and dedication to the Eagle Scouting Program.    

The fun and feast ...

Guests were treated to a  spaghetti dinner with meatball and sausage sauces, salad, bread and ice cream.

Our Volunteers ...

The Elks’ believe that our children are our national treasure and the measure that we hand out to them in their youth, they in turn, will give back to our communities and our nation in the future.
